Provo, UT - Joining an all-star cast of coaches and industry professionals speaking at the 2009 American Volleyball Coaches Association Spring Conference, Scoutware's Director of Client Services, Amanda Carmichael was on hand presenting a seminar titled "Building a Booster Club and Staying Connected to Them."
The Conference was held in conjuction with the 2009 NCAA Men's Volleyball Championship taking place at nearby Brigham Young University.
"We were honored to be invited to host a session at the Spring Conference, especially related to fundraising and marketing," Carmichael said. "The presentation was a huge success, and it really got everyone that attended to think 'I could be doing a lot more.'"
The focus of the Conference revolved around "21st Century Coaching Skills." Not only do coaches need to win games on the court, and win recruiting battles off of it, they must also be able to run camps, raise money, coordinate charity events, get people in the seats, and market their program as well as themselves.
"I think everyone understands that coaching in today's world is a much bigger task than just coaching," Carmichael said. "You have to wear many different hats and keeping up with technology and how it can make you more effective is a must."
With nearly three times as many people at the convention than in 2008, the sessions provided great discussion and excitement for the event to grow in the future.
