Aurora, IL - Scoutware's Director of Client Services, Amanda Carmichael, along with Director of Sales, Kate Cronin, recently participated as facilitators to a roundtable discussion titled, E-Everywhere! Athletics Technology and the New Century at the Women's Leadership Symposium held in Chicago, IL on May 11-12. Along with leading the roundtable, Scoutware was a sponsor for the event.

The roundtable focused on using social networking sites to effectively reach alumni, potential donors, fans, student-athletes, and prospective students on a number of levels. A few of the networking sites that were discussed include Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, and the latest internet phenomenon, Twitter.

"Social networking sites are among the fastest growing and most used sites on the internet today," she added. "They not only tailor to younger audiences, but they play an integral role in reaching out in a quick and cost effective manner."

Carmichael and Cronin were invited as facilitators because of their wide-ranging knowledge in the field of new age communication and technology.

"Speaking at these conventions and sponsoring important events like the Women's Leadership Symposium is something we’re proud of," Carmichael said. "Along with the Women’s Leadership Symposium, we've spoken at the AVCA, WBCA, CBC and NACWAA in similar capacities."

Leading the roundtable discussion, Carmichael and Cronin provided general information about each of the different tools, prompted discussion of advantages, disadvantages and monitoring, and focused the group on how social networking sites can be used for both personal and professional gain. They also shared stories from a few of Scoutware’s clients and provided examples of how programs are using social networking as a part of their overall communication strategy.
